Productivity estimation of three crops of wheat, barley and grain corn in Khorramshahr

Iran is one of the countries that is located in arid and semi-arid regions and is facing a shortage of water resources; therefore, the optimal use of water resources for agricultural purposes will be a response to drought. Therefore, there is a need for more precise planning for the optimal use of water resources. In this study, while reviewing other available results, the value of grain water efficiency index for Khorramshahr region was determined and compared with the global average value of water efficiency index for cereals. Based on the obtained results, the yield of the primary crop (kg) and the volume of water consumption (cubic meters) for crop production have been determined, and finally the efficiency index of water consumption for the three crops of wheat, corn and barley using data from three crop years Calculated from 2009 to 2011. Based on the results, the average water use efficiency of wheat, barley and corn crops was 1.07, 1.02 and 1.35 kg / m3 of water consumption, respectively.
