Actinic Prurigo: A case report

Abstract

<span>Actinic prurigo is a rare disease occurring mainly in individuals of American Indian origin and those living in high altitudes. Skin lesions consist of pruritic popular or nodular excoriated lesions mainly affecting exposed skin but covered skin is also involved in up to 50% of patients. This is the first case report of an Iranian patient. This 19-year-old female had pruritic popular and nodular lesions on face, trunk, buttocks and extremities since age of 9 years. The lesions were photosensitive. Histopathological findings were compatible with the diagnosis of actinic prurigo.</span>
