A 55-year-old man with aortic aneurysm dissection was candidated for surgery. His blood pressure was low and he had chest pain. After sternotomy and extraction of clots, cardiac collapse occurred and deep hypothermic circulatory arrest (DHCA) was started with all of the methods for brain protection. After the operation, the patient was completely alert and conscious without any problems.
