The Changes of Educational Planning in Kenya Educational System since Independence

Abstract

Education is a critical investment in the human resource of a country. It enables the country to shape the attitudes, skills and knowledge of its population and also gets the appropriate work force with diverse skills necessary to drive the economic and social development of the society. <br /> Given the dynamic nature of society, education and, by extension the curriculum, also has to change to reflect the prevailing social and economic drivers. This paper chronicles some of the curriculum changes that have taken place in Kenya since independence highlighting the accompanying challenges and intervention strategies over the time.
