Six new Fusarium species isolated from maize in Iran

Abstract

<span class="normalchar1"><span>In order to determine morphological characteristics of <em>Fusarium</em> species associated with root and stem of maize in Kermanshah province, during</span></span><span class="normalchar1"><span>two growing seasons of 2006-2008, 110 samples, mostly from diseased plants were collected from different geographic regions of the province. The collecting localities were Gilan Gharb, Sarpol Zohab, Qasr Shirin, Sonqor, Kangavar, Bisotun, Ravansar, Kermanshah, Paveh and Sahneh. About 1100 <em>Fusarium</em> isolates were collected and 29 species were identified. This is the first report of <em>Fusarium pseudoanthophilum</em>,</span></span><em><span> <span lang="EN-MY">F. brevicatenulatum</span></span></em><span lang="EN-MY">,</span><span class="normalchar1"><em><span>F. </span></em></span><em><span>dlaminii</span></em><span class="normalchar1"><span>,<em> F. </em></span></span><em><span>beomiforme</span></em><span class="normalchar1"><span>,<em> F. </em></span></span><em><span>napiforme</span></em><span class="normalchar1"><span>and</span></span><em><span> <span lang="EN-MY">F. aywerte</span></span></em><span lang="EN-MY"> from</span><span class="normalchar1"><span> Iran.</span></span>
