During spring 2011, some fungal isolates were recovered from sterilized soil (Fig. 1, A) or vermiculite, in pots and flats in greenhouses in Shiraz University, using malt extract agar and potato dextrose agar (Fig. 1, B). Anamorphic characteristics such as conidiophores and conidia were investigated. Conidiophores 125–1350 × 7.5–15 µm, hyaline, erect, broad, septate, branched once, twice (Fig. 1, F) or multi (Fig. 1, C–E) at the apex, bearing spore masses, at sterigmata on the fertile portions of branches. Conidia 4.4–7.2 µm, blastosporous, pale yellowish brown, globose, smooth, one celled (Fig. 1, G). Based on the above criteria, the fungus was identified as Chromelosporium fulvum (Link) McGinty, Korf & Hennebert. (Pezizales, Pezizaceae) which is a new report for Iran.en_US
