In this work, modification of carbon paste electrode surface with poly (2, 5-Dimethyl aniline) (P-2,5-DMA) by using electrochemical polymerization was described. Then, transition metal ions of Ni(II) were incorporated into the polymer film by two ways. At first way, the polymeric modified electrode was immersed in 0.2 M NiSO4 solutions and the second way was carried out by electrodeposition of Ni from acidic NiSO4 solution by using potentiostatically technique. The electrochemical characterization of both modified electrodes exhibit stable redox behavior of the Ni(III)/Ni(II) couple in NaOH solution. The results show that the Ni/P-2,5-DMA films prepared by electrodeposition route behaves as better electrocatalysts methanol oxidation in 1.0 M NaOH solution with respect to Ni/P-2,5-DMA prepared by accumulation of Ni(II) ions from the solution.
