dc.description.abstract2-Methylpyridinum p-toluenesulfonate ([2-MPy][p-TSA]) as a novel room temperature ionic liquid<br />was synthesized and evaluated as a recoverable catalyst for the one-pot synthesis of<br />hexahydroquinoline-3-carboxamide derivatives by four-component reaction of arylaldehydes,<br />dimedone, acetoacetanilide and ammonium acetate in high to excellent yield in ethanol at 50 oC.<br />The [2-MPy][p-TSA] catalyst was characterized via FT-IR, 1H NMR and 13C NMR spectroscopy.<br />An environmentally benign procedure, four-component in one pot reaction, high yields and simple<br />preparation of the catalyst are some advantages of this work.<br /><br />en_US
