Abstract

Contrast media appear to act just as safe in children as in adults. The risk factors are similar and the same safety measures should be taken. The main differences are related to contrast dose ,physiology of children in reaction , handling and eradication of contrast media and also types of approved media for use in children.<br /> Whenever possible ,natural materials like air , water and saline should be used instead.<br /> Choosing most appropriate contrast medium should rely on safety, tolerability, and efficacy, which is approved in age-specific clinical trials and personal experience.
